Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!" [Isaiah 6:8] While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you." [Luke 24:36] This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. [John 3:19] After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: "Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you." [1 Thessalonians 3:4] In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. [John 16:23] One Sabbath, when Jesus went to eat in the house of a prominent Pharisee, he was being carefully watched. [Luke 14:1] So when they met together, they asked him, "Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?" [Acts 1:6] You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. [Luke 1:31] One day Jesus said to his disciples, "Let us go over to the other side of the lake." So they got into a boat and set out. [Luke 8:22] He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit [Titus 3:5] Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. [1 Peter 3:8]
